Goodbye to trying to please everyone other than myself.

Goodbye frumpy clothes.

Goodbye not having people over for dinner because our house is too small.

Goodbye clutter.

Goodbye fear of the unknown.

Hello 2012.

Hello to completing my 52 cupcake series.

Hello to coming up with fun dates for Jeff and I.

Hello midday picnics and breakfast foods for dinner.

Hello to saying No confidently.

Hello to moving forward despite fear or other’s approval.

Hello to feeling sexy in clothes and wearing a bikini.

Hello to being called an athlete again.

Hello 2012. I’ve been waiting for you. Let’s live it up.

I wrote this last night as my final page in my December Daily journal. I wasn’t planning on sharing it until I was sitting in church this morning and this verse flashed on the screen:

“I forget the things that are past. I try as hard as I can to reach the goal that is before me.” – Philippians 3:13

After chewing on this verse for a few minutes, the music minister closed the service with this song. This is the same song I heard moments after I found out I had cancer on the car radio. This was the same song that I heard live in concert just 2 hours after my CT scans/MRIs the following day, wondering if my cancer had spread to other organs. This was the same song I heard driving home after delivering Samantha. And again, this was the same song I heard one day after we decided to walk away from our dream home in October.

This song has been there playing during good and bad times. It speaks to a constant in my life. God is constant when I’m having good or bad events happening in my life. He is good despite my circumstances and especially when I don’t deserve it. So I didn’t believe it was a coincidence when I heard this song this morning to ring in my new year.

How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin

Blessings for a safe and joyous New Year! – Jenny

I will be back tomorrow with a video to wrap up December Daily and a video on Tuesday to show you my Project Life 2011 album. I learned some lessons along the way that I would love to share with you and encourage you going into 2012.

Chris Tomlin is amazing and in concert when he sang that song he stopped all the instruments and had the crowd sing it and it gave me chills. Tears. Would love to see him again under happier circumstances.

OHHHH I bet Chris was FABULOUS in concert!!!! I’d love to see him!!! After listening to the clip yesterday I was singing this song all day yesterday and woke up singing it again this morning!! What a great song to have stuck in my head for the new year… especially since my OLW for 2012 is ‘relinquish’ – give it all up to God. Here’s to you seeing Chris in concert again in a whole new light!!!!! And knowing you… you WILL!!!!!!!!

What an incredible list … of course now I’m going to try to make my list and it looks like it’s going to be hard – but that’s OK! I’m been journaling every day in December and it truly is a GRAND way to end my album. Thank you for your inspiration and may the new year be filled with success in all your goals!

Do it Julie! You will not regret it one bit. Just think- if you only get 10 of those things done, what an accomplishment. It will enrich your life. It has had an overwhelming impact on how I view everything.

Hi Jenny – I came to your blog through Becky Higgins. I loved your dancing video and I’ve been poking around here on your blog. It’s fantastic. I don’t usually post comments on the blogs I read, but this entry struck me. What a great list. And what a great song you reference. I lost my dad to cancer (he was 57) on Easter Sunday of this year. We played ‘How Great is Our God’ at his funeral. Because – as you said – He is constant. Good times or bad. Best of everything to you in 2012. I’m going to be checking in here often – for your PL ideas and because you just seem pretty cool. :) Take care.

Thanks Melissa. I’m truly sorry about losing your dad at such a young age. I can’t imagine the hole that has created. But indeed God is constant- a fact that I have to remind myself often. So glad you have joined me on this crazy adventure and I look forward to getting to know you better.
