Hello friends! What an exciting month it has been in the Meyerson house. I am still living off the high of dancing in Washington D.C.! If you didn’t get a chance to watch this video, please do- it will be the best 2 minutes and 22 seconds of your day. I promise you will smile and get a good laugh! I’ve included my video in my Project Life this week.
As some of you know, I use a system called Project Life to not only document my blog activities but also my family life. It is a weekly system of documenting my journey through pictures and journaling all that life has to offer. Here are the last 3 weeks of this wonderful thing called life.
This week Jeff and I headed to Northern VA and Washington DC for a 7 day trip without kids and to attend my 20th high school reunion. As an Air Force brat, I attended 5 high schools in 4 years. So this was the high school that I attended in 1oth grade. Jeff and I had a blast and this was just a glimpse of our awesome time together. Our time included friends, macarons, cupcakes, a Nationals baseball game, Wicked at the Kennedy Center, carousels, and dancing. Lots and lots of dancing.
I made a copy of my Jenny Goes to Washington video and printed a picture onto the DVD. It was my first time doing that- it takes a little practice to get the picture on the DVD correctly and I still need to work on getting this right.
What I did realize though is how much I want to increase the amount of video that I do of my family and myself. My 2 year old wakes up every morning asking for “my hideo please”. It has been a part of our routine to watch it every morning after breakfast. I love that.
The other thing I love about this week is that there are no children in this 2-page spread. Just Jeff and I. And I was smiling and dancing despite my current frustrations with my weight. How much freedom I have felt as a result of that week. What a blessing it continues to be.
I love Project Life simply because I can look at these 2 pages and see a great snapshot of what was happening in just one week of our family. Again, one of the most favorite projects that I’ve ever done. I don’t ever see myself stopping. Evolving yes, but stopping- I doubt it.
The Meyersons have some mad Uno skills. More ephemera with dry cleaning tags and restaurant cards. And I write a card every week to my children. This week’s card was related to what I hope they get and give at school this year. Some weeks I write them individual cards and some weeks I write one card to all of them.
The postcard is from the same set of I Love You Postcards that I talked about here. And I continue my love affair with all things Instax. Those little credit card sized polaroid-like pictures just speak my love language.
I am working at trying to get some different perspectives in my Project Life. Not just candid shots, but activities, fashion (shoes), food, relationships, and projects. In this case, we are remodeling a home so I tried to include some of those shots this week. For more great inspiration, turn to the fabulous lady who started it all, Becky Higgins. Her blog is full of photo inspiration as well as information about when the new Project Life kits for 2012 will be for sale.
I have loved the pattern of continuing with a weekly card to my children and using journal cards from my Marta Writes journals that I keep on my nightstand.
Well that is my last 3 weeks of Project Life. And as always, I love this project. I would love to see some of your ideas as well. Feel free to comment and send me links to your ideas.
I am excited to be leaving shortly to attend the final Creative Escape. I am excited to soak up all the wonderful inspiration from the amazing teachers as well as meet some internet friends that I have been in contact with since starting this blog only 2 months ago.
Have an amazing, adventurous day! A new cupcake will be on the blog tomorrow!
