  • Project Life Week 5 – 2012

Welcome to week #5. This project continues to make me smile. Week #5 was exciting and adventurous for our family so this project was just plain fun. Lots of smiling and good memories as pictures were being printed. Love how I have continued with some of my favorite trends, yet added something new.

Love office supplies (paper clips), grid journaling cards, and using different types of letters and numbers to include our M6

I’m continuing my love affair with arrows

My new discovery this week was instagram. {I know… where have I been?} I made 2 collages in photoshop with pictures from my work in the emergency department and one from Disney. Made them in less than 5 minutes each and I love how they help to tell a story. My username is jennymeyerson. Include your username in the comments so I can join along in your instagram adventure. Instagram addiction in my near future I’m guessing.

The kids continue to treasure the weekly letters. I might enjoy them even more.

Loved taking instax photos at Disney. So much fun and nostalgic. I should be a sales rep as I must have told 40 people where to buy them at Disneyland. If Disney were smart, they would put those in their gift shop!

And this is how it looks when you open up the album and everything is tucked away. Plain awesome.

Last, I will burn a DVD of the video we made last week of our family dancing and laughing in Disneyland. It was one of the highlights of my life. But alas, I ran out of ink while printing the picture on the DVD. So I will edit this post sometime this evening and include the DVD. If you haven’t seen the video, it will make your day… promise.

Also, I made some cute cards to go with my character keys for the kids to reinforce good behavior traits. I used my Project Life journaling cards. You can see them here.

Project Life is a simple scrapbooking solution to preserving your memories and documenting your stories. It was designed by Becky Higgins and you can find more information here.

Thanks Jules. If you don’t have an Instax, you should really get one. It is entirely too much fun. And the pictures have that old, vintagy look which is perfect.
I might need an arrow intervention. The last time I was in my local scrapbook store, I made it a point to circle the store looking for just arrows. That’s bad. :) - J

Ellie – Instagram is so convenient, but I’m taking a photography class so I’m still bound to keep my DSLR out (which is a good thing).
And so glad you started stitching. You will be shocked to see how quickly you improve as sew more. The December Daily project helped me as I was sewing tons.
So proud of you and thanks for sharing your pages! – jenny

I’m working on a couple of instagram projects right now, so I’ll include a little tutorial on the different ways I’m printing them out sometime later next week. I’m still trying to find out what works best and looks best myself. Going to order from Postal Pix today to see how those look as well.
And thank you so much for your kind words. I read and cherish everyone of the comments left on the blog. They truly serve to energize me as I’m going along on this adventure. Thanks Amy and have a terrific day – Jenny

Instagram was the main reason I switched from the droid to the Iphone. I love it! You can follow me at mamamuniz. Also, just an FYI, in Instagram you can click on “profile” on the bottom menu bar, then “find friends” then “facebook friends”. I found most of my peeps this way. Have fun!

Thanks Lisa for your suggestions. I just started following people this afternoon and have lots more to add. Between this and pinterest, I think I might have a problem.

Jenny-I have loved following you so much since I found you (can’t remember when). I just print my instagram photos directly from iphoto in a 3×3 format and then I can use them in the 4×6 Project Life slots. I usually attach them to a 4×6 piece of white cardstock and then I can write right next them. You are more than welcome to follow me on instagram-mostly I take photos of my dog so it gets a bit boring. betsycruickshank

Thanks Betsy – I will follow you and enjoy the pictures of your dog. :) I also printed out some as 3 x3 as well for another project I am working on. Great suggestion to put 2 pictures on a card, so there is room to journal. Have a great evening- J

I just uploaded the postal pix app and am going a tad print happy right now. Oh my, this could get seriously dangerous. The ideas are just spinning in my head. And I think I am following you now on Instagram.
I signed up for the photo a day program through studio calico but hadn’t done anything. Going to start now though and just move forward. Thx Jen!

So So cute! I love all the colors. I think my favorite part is how you added your to do list. That is the best way to look back and remember what was going on that week.. I think :)

I agree Jessi! The list was one of my favorite things to and am thinking of using a list of some sort every week or so. I looked back on my calendar and wrote things that I had been working on the past week as I had syrup on the original one. Never a dull moment. :)
