  • Project Life Week #29

Project Life. One week of a great life captured between 2 pages of a scrapbook. A snapshot of my week. It’s amazing that something so simple can bring such joy to me and to my family. My Emily asked yesterday, “Why did you put the jam on your blog? Aren’t you supposed to post about our Project Life album?” I love it. I love that it is becoming a part of their lives too and reminds me of how important memories are.

    Here’s a peek:

Just a snapshot of the week. Family life. Blog activities. In the top right corner is a postcard with a love letter written to my husband on the back. It is from “The Little Box of I Love You Postcards”, which I adore. The designs are precious and the price is right. I picked mine up at a local specialty shop but I found them on Amazon here.

In between my 2 pages are a couple of inserts. Here are heavy chipboard notecards that are letter pressed with my kids initials. I picked them up at another local specialty shop in Phoenix called Frances. If you are local, I highly recommend the shop.

On the backside of the notecards I attached a small picture and a personal letter to my older 3 kids. They are corny like their mom and love stuff like this.

Another view. I love the transparency of this album. How I can look back and forward and see different views, different perspectives. Variety is good and I love this album for just that.

Art work from my Samantha. Can I just tell you how little people artwork just makes my heart melt? Insert heavy sigh here. I put these inserts into a 8.5 x 11 page protector and cut off a portion off of the top and stitched with my sewing machine.

Here are the Marta Write journal pages torn out and corner rounded right from my journal. Love the snapshot of what I was feeling on that particular day.

And remember to include myself in these pictures. My husband got left out of this week- will work on this next week.

Make sure to keep your stuff. In this case I have started hot yoga and barre method classes as part of my project health. Love that I have these here in my album, a true reflection of present life.

If you are new to my site, please go here to see how this crazy adventure began. I have chosen Project Life to document my family life as well as the activities on my blog as I seek to mark off 1300+ items on my life list after my battle with cancer. Glad you stopped by.

Also, I have received some questions about where I have bought some of my scrapbook products. Here are some links to the products that I have used so far. I bought my Project Life at the beginning of the year and it is now sold out. I will let everyone know when they are back in stock, but you can still order some separate pieces to get started and I highly suggest you do.

    The meat and potatoes:

Divided Photo Pocket Pages – Design A (holds horizontal 4×6 photos)

Divided Photo Pocket Pages – Design B (holds vertical 4×6 photos)

    100 Journaling Cards – 3″ x 4″ with Grid Design

    12×12 Leather 3-Ring Binder: Black

Assorted page protectors (For enlarged pictures, kid’s artwork, museum inserts, restaurant menus, etc.):

    American Crafts 6 x 12 Page Protectors

    American Crafts 8.5 x 11 Page Protectors

    We R Memory Keepers 8.5 x 11 Page Protectors

    American Crafts 8 x 8 Page Protectors

American Crafts 10 x 12 Page Protectors (holds 6 horizontal and 4 vertical pictures) I love these as I tend to take a lot of vertical pictures. I have also added the flip protectors on top of the bottom horizontal picture if I have tons of pictures from that week.

We R Memory Keepers Multi Pack (Assorted sized page protectors. I just bought this and the options are limitless. A great place to start if you aren’t sure what size you like best).

Memory Book Flip Pocket Page Protectors (Holds 4 x 6 photos) I love these and use tons of them. Limitless possibilities.

    Extra tools:

Fujifilm Instax MINI 7s White Instant Film Camera

Fujifilm INSTAX 210 Instant Photo Camera

We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch, Pink Handle: Punches through chipboard and makes extra holes for assorted page protectors.

Sewing machine – I mostly use my zig zag stitch and red thread (only because that is what was left from my last sewing project)

Corner rounder – Mine is outdated but look to scrapbook.com for a multitude of possibilities

Stamps- Assorted yummies. If you are new to stamping I highly suggest looking at these companies: Technique Tuesdays and Hero Arts

Digital elements: Ali Edwards and Cathy Zielske. Their websites contain amazing tutorials for beginners and their elements can be purchased through Designer Digitals.

    Extra yummy goodness:

Little Box of I Love You Postcards
I used one in this post and was a letter written to my husband. Adorable designs.

Cosmo Cricket Cardstock Stickers Odds & Ends ( These are seen on this week’s layout. I need to go get more of these. Yummy).

    October Afternoon Label Stickers Seaside

October Afternoon Label Stickers Rocket Age

    Marta Write Journals

I also love stationary of all types and have a stash from years past. I pick things up from specialty shop, postcards, etc. I still value old fashioned letters and want to include them in my albums. If I can link to a source I will.

Thanks again for stopping by. I essentially have only been blogging about a month so you are welcome to join me on this journey by visiting my facebook page or on twitter. If you have any suggestions, I welcome them. Have a blessed day.
