  • Project Life 2012 – Week #7

Here’s Week #7 of Project Life and this was my favorite week! I am starting to get into the groove for 2012 and just really having fun and relaxing with it. I’m really using the “there are no rules” mantra and it made this week seem so much more fun than the “scurrying around to finish” mantra that I had used the past 2 weeks.

My sister and I went craft and vintage shopping and found a vintage bread loaf pan and a letterpress tray to help get my supplies organized. You can see that post here.

The big highlights of our week included a 3 day swim meet for Rebecca and Emily, surgery for Miss Samantha to get tubes in her ears, and Valentine’s Day. But despite those events, I still love celebrating the ordinary days the most.

Love having my Marta Writes journal sheets back in my 2012 album. I used them almost every week of 2011 and missed them. So simple, yet it really captures one day perfectly.

I used Page Protector F. Initially it was an accident and then I just went with it. Typically I use one A and one B page protector each week. I take a lot of vertical pictures which work perfectly with type B protectors.

I loved including more writing and more pictures with page protector F. I printed my pictures into 2 x 2 squares and then used a slightly larger square punch to create the white border. I really like the look of them.

This is how it looks with the inserts. The inserts include the girls’ swim heat sheets, in a 8.5 x 11 page protector, and my weekly card to the kids. The card is made of wood so it was fun writing on the back, as the texture was really different.

Arrows, letter stickers, office supplies… my love affair continues. This chevron bag was picked up at Melrose Vintage. It is a vintage store that has a little scrapbooking section. I bought several bags in blue, red, and green. Love.

I included a tag inside the chevron bag, with a couple more pictures of my nieces that I got to love on this weekend. Bags are perfect to use to keep some of your journaling a little more private, or to include additional lists or journaling.

Loved including my movie stubs and a picture of the movie trailer. Did this a lot in my 2011 album as well.

Here I printed off the 2 swimming photos measuring 2.5 wide x 3.5 inches high and just paper clipped them onto a card from the Project Life Clementine Core Kit. Simple, but I really liked the look and will probably repeat in the future as time allows.

I cohosted the Valentines Party for Ben’s class. We played one of my favorite games. The kids race each other to eat the donut hanging from the ceiling (with yarn). They can’t use their arms and it was a riot to watch. Jeff was a good man and came to help me hang up the donuts and transport Rootbeer cupcakes since it was also Arizona’s 100th birthday. And of course, Ben volunteered my cupcake services.

In between the swimming events, I chatted with Jeff and the kids about making their own life lists. It was eye opening and really has affected the way I have looked at things over the past couple of days. You can read my post here about loving the bigger picture. I just journaled on a Clementine Core Kit card and attached an Amy Tangerine sticker (love those).

So there you have it. A very full Week #7 in the Meyerson home. As always, if you have any questions, please leave a comment as I do my best to respond to each and everyone. Feel free to leave your links to your project life posts below. I love to see everyone enjoying life.

Thanks Helen. I don’t want to make it complicated and that’s why I just went with page A and B every week, but as time allows I would like to vary up the pages. It really was a fun creative adventure this past week. And I had a little more time to play.
That’s one of my favorite parts of this project – I get to make it as simple or detailed as I want to, without the guilt. Thanks Helen – J

Thanks Kayla. I loved printing off my pictures this week smaller so I could include all the extras. With 4 kids, big events, and family in town, I was feeling a little bit detailed overwhelmed.
So enjoyed looking at your pages, too! -J

I love the white borders too, Jules. I think I’m going to do that again this next week. It was just by playing around that I did one of my pictures like that.
Cupcakes and swimming seem to be overtaking my world right now. :) Looking forward to spending some time looking at everyone’s pages later tonight. I have a date with my computer!-J

Thanks Nichole. That cupcake was inhaled by Hank, our dog, about 3 minutes after this picture was taken. While I put my camera up, he snuck in and ate the cupcake, liner and all.
And as always, he didn’t get sick at all. Little stinker.
Thanks so much for stopping by Nichole. This project just makes me smile. It’s been so much fun. -J

Jenny, I love looking at your project life pages and have been inspired to start our families Project Life as well! Could you tell me which Instax Camera you use? I think I NEED to get one…just not sure whether to go with the 7s or the 25. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

You will love Project Life. So much fun and I’m finding the possibilities are endless. I have the 7s and I have a black, wide one as well. I’ll get back to you on what size that is (not at home!).
I love that camera and it was so much fun at Disneyland. There is something magical about the instant film. Perhaps it is just nostalgic from when I was a kid? Whatever the reason, I am in love. Thanks Maureen – can’t wait to see your layouts in the futures. – J
