Jenny goes to Washington from Jenny Meyerson on Vimeo.

Jeff and I loved our 7 day trip to Washington D.C. I felt liberated after dancing by myself and with some new friends in front of many of the Washington D.C. monuments. Enjoy and feel free to laugh with me or at me. Either way… life is good. Life is so good.

By the way, the song in this video, Another Day, is from one of my favorite groups Pomplamoose.  I love Nataly’s voice and Jack’s sense of fun and adventure. Check out their videos here. Don’t miss their videos of September and If You Think. Love, love, love them.

Anyway, I hope you like our vacation summed up in 2 minutes and 22 seconds.

If you are new to the site, click here to see why in the world I would dance alone and with strangers on my trip.

Not only was it fun to see the city with you, but it was a blast putting the video together. Love you very much. What a great week that was!

Glad you loved it Julie. Let me know what the girls think. And yes Jeff rolling down the hill was hilarious especially remembering when I asked him to do it, and he was like “You want me to do what?” Thanks again for watching the kiddos.

No one even hesitated- they all said yes willingly after they heard the explanation. The only person who said no was a uniformed police officer but he said that he doesn’t allow himself to be photographed in uniform. I understood that but everyone else just joined in on the fun. And this sure beats the “Here is the next monument”… type of video that we have plenty of and dust often. Thanks for stopping by.

I love this! It made me smile. And then cry to think about what you’ve overcome. And then reminded me to enjoy life & live it to the fullest. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks Nicol! Jeff and I smiled and laughed so much until it hurt. One of the most fun things we have ever done. We had such a good time. And to think, we have so many more items to check off the list. Makes us so look forward to the future and enjoy the present that much more as well. Thanks as always for your continued support and stopping by.

Thanks so much friend. This was our first time ever using the camera- photo or video so it was an experiment, but we had fun. And as far as the Today Show, I’m all for it. It’s actually on my list! :)

Oh that was SUPER FUN!! I did a little 2 day road trip that ended up in Washington & now your making me want to go back! We went w/a tour group so we didn’t get to really get to really enjoy each stop and plan on one day doing it again and staying WAY longer as it was our 3 kids & mom on the trip. We did enjoy the Air & Space museum & I had the most AWESOME pics but something happened and all of them got erased! The proof I have is my post cards I purchased and journaling I was doing on the bus! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful video, I am SO inspired to make one too :)

Ellie- thanks so much for stopping by. I felt nauseous when you said you lost your photos. I have had a similar experience and probably could have used counseling for it! The video was on Jeff and my top 5 list of fun things we have ever done. But going and acting like a kid while our 4 kids enjoyed home was priceless. Love to travel with them, but it was such a great and needed escape.

    Dear Jenny,

I stumbled across your blog this morning and have enjoyed looking at your posts.

You are an inspiration and I love the idea of journalling as you have. I hope to do this for our daughter Dempsey.

My mum fought cancer with the same attitude you have…its made me forget my pity party this morning and focus on the real priorities…for that I thank you!

Thanks Diana for the kind words. I’m very thankful for the opportunity to be on the other side of the cancer experience. I understand that many didn’t survive. Journaling has been one thing that has kept my head above water (so to speak) during some really dark times. I’m trying to remember to keep documenting the happy times as well. So when I have that bad, discouraging day- I can look at those and get a bit of perspective. Stepping back and getting perspective helps me during those time. Thx for stopping by and so nice to meet you.-J

Hi Jenny: Thanks for directing me to your site. I just watched the video and how CUTE!CUTE! CUTE! It made me smile and appreciate who you are even more. I know you have courage, look what you’ve been through, but to dance so freely without a care in the world is priceless. You truly are an inspiration and I hope that you can share this video with many as I’m sure it will inspire them: you can bet the odds—you are LIVING, EXUBERANT, SILLY, FUN, FREE SPIRITED CAREFREE proof. Good job Jenny

Oh Gail! What a nice compliment and I’m so glad you stopped by. I am most definitely silly- that is for certain. But it was so liberating and carefree, which is ironic, considering I spent so much of life caring about what everyone else thought. What a waste of energy. Well keep in touch and look forward to celebrating many more cancer free years so that I can accomplish all the items on my list. I think I need to live to be 150 years old.

    Good Morning Jenny,
I found your blog an hour ago, I came here looking for cupcakes and found so much more.
I am laying here with tears in my eyes and can’t decide if I’m going to laugh or cry after watching your dancing video. I want to laugh because this was so sweet to watch, you appear so joyful while dancing. The song was fresh and “snazzy” and I caught myself smiling the entire time. The tears are sad because I am so wound up and uptight that I could never do this. Unfortunately, I am still using all that energy worrying about what others would think.
I am so encouraged by this little 2 minute happy dance, life really is too short too worry about things that dont matter in the end. I am so happy that you have come out of cancer on the other side and that you are LIVING life.
Thank you for sharing this with us, you really have given me alot to think about this morning. I am going to save this to my favorites and watch it when I need a kick in the pants. I am blessed with good health and need to remember that life is meant to be lived joyfully ! So this is so long, I talk too much :(
P.S. I’m going to try the key lime cupcakes today.

I was there Beth. I haven’t always lived my life with such freedom. It has taken quite a bit to get there. And you can. You will. Look forward to you stopping back by and I hope you enjoyed the cupcakes!
