I had the opportunity to spend five days on the coast of Oregon for Your Story Retreat which was a gift from Jeff for my 38th birthday. I went with no other intention other than to enjoy myself and make connections. I came away with so much more.

I wore jeans, long sleeve t-shirts, and sweaters. A much needed break from the Phoenix heat. I had time for self reflection with a reinforced belief that I am responsible for my choices and my story. I loved hearing the sound of the ocean as I wrote in my journal.

Friendships deepened. I needed the personal connection. The internet has been a gift in introducing me to great friends, but nothing beats chatting with friends face to face over a cup of tea, a belly laugh, or a drive to the Goonies house.

A highlight of my trip was meeting new friends with infectious grins and beautiful souls. I connected with women who are deep and refreshingly real.

Loved being in community with women who love using their cameras, journals, paint brushes, and words to share their stories.

But this picture of Julie and Cyndi sums it up. My heart was filled with love, laughter, and colorful connections.

Feeling immeasurably blessed as I came home refreshed and able to catch an early flight home. I made it home with three minutes to spare before Samantha turned three years old. When she woke up she requested scrambled eggs, a croissant, and to play Go Fish. Her wish was granted.

Life is good.
So excited to be checking off 2 more items off my 39 list this week. That makes me smile.
Blessings sweet friends – Jenny
I’m choosing to live life intentionally after a battle with cancer. I’m enjoying life and marking items off my life list. Specifically, this was one of the 39 items I want to complete before I turn 39 in November 2012.
