  • The Current Me

    39 year + 2 month old me.

Watching Homeland reruns. The main character Carrie actually makes me want to be a CIA agent and take down criminals. Brilliant writing and cast.

Resisting Downton Abbey. I feel like I would be cheating on Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. If it would encourage Jeff to speak with a British accent however, I might reconsider and watch the series.

Making recipes from Dinner: A Love Story: It all begins at the family table . The author’s name is Jenny and she also blogs, so of course I imagine that we have an unsaid, yet fabulous connection.

Devouring my current favorite read, My Ideal Bookshelf. If you ever wanted to know what other books famous athletes, actors, designers, and writers have on their bookshelves, this book is for you. The illustrations are mouth watering.

Shopping for couches. My style is eclectic. I haven’t met a style or color that I didn’t like. As a result, my family has been couch-less since September. I really like this one right now.

Beginning a quilt making adventure for all of our beds. Hopefully when I document another one of these Current Me Posts in 10 years, I will be done with the four quilts.

Totally inspired by this couple who blog at Breakfast With Strangers. Tickled pink and a bit envious that they met Susie Davis for breakfast and heard her story.

Crafting projects from Show Me a Story: 40 Craft Projects and Activities to Spark Children’s Storytellingbook. I was sent this to review and I’m loving Samantha’s interest and the stories that have been created and recalled using these activities.

Searching the library for some of the reading suggestions from Modern Mrs. Darcy. You won’t regret it. After checking out her site, enjoy your trip to the library or nearest bookstore. Tell your husband to blame it on me. I can take it.

Taking on some extra responsibility at work with teaching updates to our computer charting system and working with a fabulous group of coworkers to de-clutter our work space. Taking pictures of the process.

Making plans to mark some items off my life list. Honestly, I am a bit scared as I haven’t had my energy back for very long. Yearning a fresh start and what I am being called to do, and not necessarily what is the most popular trend(s) with other bloggers.

Squeezing into my jeans. Forward with my health goals.

Drinking a large, unsweetened iced tea.

Rejoicing with Jeff as his business continues to flourish. I have loved seeing the spark back in his eyes.

Watching the girls swim. I feel an instant peace the moment I step on the pool deck.

Appreciating you for sharing in my story.

    Blessings sweet friends,

Phew! A lot here. I pray your energy keeps up with your aspirations!

The current you and the current me could totally hang out. Except I’d make you catch up on Downton so that we could watch the current ones together. Mr. Darcy would want it that way.

I agree with Sherry … Mr. Darcy wouldn’t be upset at all and I PROMISE you’ll love Downton Abbey!!! (Besides, you don’t want to keep hearing about this and not understand what’s going on! Just think of it as “research”! )
Wish we could be quilting buddies … I’m going to make getting ONE done this year.
Thanks for always being an inspiration to me and inspiration to work on my Bucket List!
    Sending you (((HUGS))) from TX!

It sounds like you are in a really good place. So happy for you! January may be cold in these parts (New England), but I always look forward to the new year and all the possibilities it brings. I wish us both much continued success in taking care of us, and tackling new goals!

    Hi Jenny!!
So happy to “hear” from you!! I must agree with all above … if you love P&P, you will go crazy for Downton!!! You must must must dive in…I know season one is on netflix streaming! You won’t be sorry!!!

And, I had to laugh on your point about de-cluttering at work…Anytime I am in a hospital, I am always amazed at how cluttered and visually messy it looks…how do you guys ever find the right thing when you need it ! Must all be part of the magic.

Peace friend and I’m so happy you are on the journey with us!

Everytime I think of you, I say a prayer. If I lived near you, I would come find you and bring you flowers, or wine or both. I would definitely give you a hug. You are a blessing. xoxo
